Impact Family Council

Help Transform Ingham County's Mental Health Service System!

Impact is a partnership of child and family-serving agencies working in cooperation to provide coordinated services for children with serious emotional disturbance (SED) and their families. Impact's primary goal is to improve outcomes for children and youth with SED by increasing family and community partnerships. ACMH is pleased to serve as the lead family contact, promoting family engagement through family-to-family support and participation.

Impact Family Council Monthly Meetings (Held During the Day)

Who is the council for? Family members/caregivers of a youth with emotional/ behavioral/ mental health challenges, Ingham County residents, and Family members who want support from other family members who “have been there”.

Date & Time: The 1st Tuesday of every month, from 10am to 12pm and the 2nd Thursday of every month from 12:30 to 2:30 pm

Meet other family members for support, Share parenting ideas, resources, and strategies, Learn about exciting leadership opportunities, Connect with learning opportunities in the community, and Shape the future of the Ingham County System of Care. Youth "Speak Your Mind" Council

Do you want to make your community a better place?  Ever feel like your voice is never heard?  Well…Speak Your Mind! Join the Speak Your Mind Council! Free snacks, drinks, conversation and fun activities provided!

Location: St. Vincent Catholic Charities, 2800 W. Willow St., (the building closest to the cemetery) Lansing, MI 48917
Who/Why: Teens who are or have been involved in Mental Health, Special Ed., Juvenile Justice, or Child Welfare Services...Because we want to Impact our community. Transportation can be provided, if you call the Thursday before our next scheduled meeting.

Speak Up, Speak Out: Youth Speakers Bureau

Location: Human Services Building, 5303 S. Cedar, Entrance # 2
Description: Youth Interested in Public Speaking and sharing their Life Experiences: Learn skills and practice techniques for effective public speaking; Work on sharing your own experiences with different audiences; Opportunities to practice speaking in front of a group of peers and in the community. This group is open to any youth involved in the court, child welfare, foster care or community mental health or involved in special education.
