Help Transform Ingham County's Mental Health Service System!

Impact is a partnership of child and family-serving agencies working in cooperation to provide coordinated services for children with serious emotional disturbance (SED) and their families. Impact's primary goal is to improve outcomes for children and youth with SED by increasing family and community partnerships. ACMH is pleased to serve as the lead family contact, promoting family engagement through family-to-family support and participation.

Save the Date: Annual Impact Family Appreciation Picnic

When: Monday, August 2, 2010 from 11:30am - 3:30pm
Where: Hawk Island Park, Red Tail Pavilion
Details: What is provided: Impact will provide the beverages, hot dogs, paper plates, cups. What do families need to bring: Families need to bring a dish to pass, swimsuits, towels, and energy to have a fun day being a family, playing games, eating, swimming. Family and youth activities:Volleyball, kickball, football, swimming and Minute to Win It theme-show games. Download the flyer here.

Impact Family Council Monthly Meetings (Held During the Day)

Who is the council for? Family members/caregivers of a youth with emotional/ behavioral/ mental health challenges, Ingham County residents, and Family members who want support from other family members who “have been there”.

Date & Time: The 1st Tuesday of every month, from 10am to 12pm. Upcoming dates: September 7, 2010; October 5, 2010; November 2, 2010

Who/What: What can I learn from this group? Meet other family members for support, Share parenting ideas, resources, and strategies, Learn about exciting leadership opportunities, Connect with learning opportunities in the community, and Shape the future of the Ingham County System of Care.

Impact Family Council Monthly Meetings (Held in the Evening)

Come join us for a relaxing evening where parents can meet other parents and support one another through shared experiences. If you are a parent of a youth with behavioral/emotional challenges, this is the group for you!

Date & Time: from 6-8 p.m. September 21, 2010 and November 16, 2010
Location: Salvation Army, 525 N. Pennsylvania, Lansing MI 48912
Who/What: This group is for any family raising children/youth with emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges in the Ingham County area. Come join us for a relaxing evening where parents can meet other parents and support one another through shared experiences. Childcare is Back!!! Call at least 1 week in advance to reserve space for your children. Transportation Assistance also available if requested 1 week in advance.

Youth "Speak Your Mind" Council

Do you want to make your community a better place?  Ever feel like your voice is never heard?  Well…Speak Your Mind! Join the Speak Your Mind Council! Free snacks, drinks, conversation and fun activities provided!

Location: St. Vincent Catholic Charities, 2800 W. Willow St., (the building closest to the cemetery) Lansing, MI 48917
Who/Why: Teens who are or have been involved in Mental Health, Special Ed., Juvenile Justice, or Child Welfare Services...Because we want to Impact our community. Transportation can be provided, if you call the Thursday before our next scheduled meeting.
