Impact Family Council (Integrating Multiple Paths Achieves Comprehensive Children’s Treatment)

 

Help transform Ingham County's Mental Health Service System!

 

Impact is a partnership of child and family-serving agencies working in cooperation to provide coordinated services for children with serious emotional disturbance (SED) and their families. Impact's primary goal is to improve outcomes for children and youth with SED by increasing family and community partnerships. ACMH is pleased is serve as the lead family contact, promoting family engagement through family-to-family support and participation.
 
Council Members are:

  • Ingham County residents

  • Family members of a child with a serious emotional disorder

  • Willing to share their diverse beliefs, ideas, experiences and perspectives

  • Have experience with at least one child serving agency such as DHS, Court, Community Mental Health, etc., and are

  • Committed to working with others to develop a system of care for youth and families that will create positive outcomes for all.

Monthly Meeting

Date & Time: Tuesday, July 8, 2008 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm

Location: Salvation Army, 701 W. Jolly Rd., Lansing, MI 48910
Who: Any family member(s) of a youth with emotional and/or behavioral challenges residing in Ingham County. Family members & parents who have a desire to support one another and make a difference for youth and families. Transportation Assistance can be provided if requested at least 3 days in advance.

Event: 2nd Annual Summer Splash Family Picnic
This event, sponsored by Impact, Ingham County's System of Care, is being held for any family raising children with emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges in the Ingham County area. It will take place on August 5, 2008 from 11:00am – 2:00pm at Hawk Island Park in Lansing. Bring a dish to pass, your swimsuit & towel, and the whole family for an afternoon of fun in the sun. Join us for food and beverages, fun family activities and giveaways.
