We are pleased to announce that the Association of Children’s Mental Health will hold a two-part virtual Youth Leadership Camp on February 11 and March 11, 2021! These opportunities will empower youth and young adults between the ages of 15-20 with personal experience with a mental health or behavioral challenge to connect with others and learn about how they can use their voices in a leadership capacity.
Session Descriptions:
Part One – Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 12:30 PM – 4:30 PM (This portion has been held)
Guest facilitator, RJ Cach, will lead participants in theater games aimed at building public speaking and advocacy skills. These games will allow participants to improve their confidence, improvisation, adaptability & teamwork.
Part Two – Thursday, March, 11, 2021 from 12:30 PM – 4:30 PM
Participants will work together to identify topics related to youth mental health that they want to advocate around and prepare a video to be shared on the ACMH YouTube page. Everyone will have the opportunity to participate in the creation of the video even if they do not wish to be featured in the video themselves.
Where: Virtually, via Zoom
When: Part Two: Thursday, March, 11, 2021 from 12:30 PM – 4:30 PM.
Who: Youth ages 15 – 20 with personal experience with a mental health or behavioral challenge
