Join the MSU Community, students, colleagues and others interested in mental health as they celebrate the soft opening of the MENTAL HEALTH INFORMATION FOR TEENS WEBSITE Thursday November 14, 2019 at the MSU Campus – Baker Hall, Room 155 (GPS address is 655 Auditorium Rd., East Lansing) from 7 to 8:30 PM. ** Parking is widely available on campus after 6 PM. Light refreshments will be served.
The newly created website is intended to deliver accurate, non-stigmatized mental health information for young teens (11-15 and up) and is a great resource especially for youth with family with mental illness but is also a great resource for all teens. The content was recommended by young teens, and largely created by MSU students under the supervision of the website design team from the School of Social Work and Usability/Accessibility Research Consulting services.
The website has been three years in the making and is still under construction. The event will be an opportunity to hear the community’s ideas about website content and gather ideas on how to best disseminate the website so that it is more likely that young teens will be able to access it.The event will also include time to share ideas about collaboration for those interested in being part of a mental health information movement on campus and within YOUR community. There will also be time to just relax and connect.
