Finding Resources for Housing, Employment, Childcare, Healthcare and Other Family Supports such as SSI/SSDI

Supporting your child’s mental health needs and working to get them connected to the supports and services they need to be successful can sometimes feel like a full time job!

Unfortunately, as parents, we usually already have a full plate of other responsibilities such as providing for our family’s basics needs including a place to live, food on the table, and a safe, warm and loving environment for our kids.

In recognition of the importance of these other responsibilities, we wanted to be sure provide some basic information about resources that may be helpful if you are in need of housing, employment, quality childcare, health care coverage or low cost medications.

Click on the links here or on the the right to access more information on specific resources including housing, childcare, employment and healthcare. Or visit MIBridges to apply for food or cash assistance, childcare assistance, healthcare coverage or state emergency relief for help with housing, utilities or burial needs. Or call or visit 211 to get connected to needed resources today.

For information about Supplemental Security Income Click on one of the Fact Sheets or information pages below or visit The SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery (SOAR) Technical Assistance (TA) Center a national program designed to increase access to the disability income benefit programs for eligible adults and children who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness and have a serious mental illness, medical impairment, and/or a co-occurring substance use disorder.
