ACMH Statewide Parent Advisory Committee (PAC)

Welcome to Our Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) Page!

We’re so glad you’re here! The ACMH Statewide Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) is a dedicated group of parents and caregivers working together to improve mental health services for youth and families in Michigan. While we are not a formal parent support group, our work offers a space for families to get involved, share their insights, and even spark ideas for forming local support groups if that’s something you’re interested in.

What We Do

Our PAC provides a platform for families to:

  • Advocate for Change: Champion family-driven and youth-guided mental health services that address real-life needs.
  • Advise and Educate: Offer firsthand insights to ACMH and state leaders about the experiences and challenges faced by families.
  • Develop Leadership: Cultivate leadership skills among parents and caregivers, empowering you to drive positive change.
  • Foster Partnerships: Connect with system partners and community stakeholders across Michigan to build stronger networks.
  • Inspire Community Initiatives: Encourage and support families interested in starting local parent support groups by providing resources and guidance.

Our Mission

The ACMH Statewide Parent Advisory Committee exists to create positive change in children’s mental health by harnessing the collective voice and expertise of parents and caregivers. We understand that every family’s experience is unique, and by coming together as both an advisory committee and a supportive community, we can:

  • Highlight the issues that matter most to families and youth.
  • Raise awareness about the challenges facing children with mental health issues.
  • Inform and educate policymakers, service providers, and community leaders.
  • Work collaboratively to shape mental health services, supports, and policies that truly make a difference.

Our goal is to ensure that every family’s voice is heard and to foster meaningful change in the policies and services affecting children and youth with mental health challenges. If you’re interested in getting involved or need guidance on how to start a local parent support group, our PAC is here to help by offering resources, mentorship, and connections.

Thank you for being part of our community and for your commitment to creating a brighter future for all families.
