Give as an Individual

GIVE AS AN INDIVIDUAL

Help make room for youth and families to lead.

Children’s mental health is shaped by the people who experience it, the families who navigate it, and the communities that support them. ACMH creates opportunities for those people to connect, build skills, share what they’ve learned, and have a meaningful role in shaping the work around them.

For more than 35 years, individual supporters have helped us keep creating those opportunities across Michigan.

WHY ACMH

We believe lived experience belongs at the table.

Young people and families know things that professionals, systems, and organizations cannot learn from a textbook. They know what it is like to navigate services, advocate for themselves, support someone they love, and figure out what actually helps.

ACMH brings that knowledge into the work. Through youth leadership, family leadership, peer support, advisory opportunities, education, and community events, we create ways for people to share their experiences and use what they’ve learned to help improve children’s mental health in Michigan.

WHAT YOUR SUPPORT MAKES POSSIBLE

Good work takes more than good intentions.

ACMH’s programs create opportunities for youth and families to turn their experiences into leadership, connection, and action. A young person might join the Youth Advisory Committee and gain the skills to advocate for their peers. A parent might connect with other families and become a stronger advocate for their child and community. Someone with lived experience might become a Youth Peer Support Specialist and use what they’ve learned to support another young person.

We also work with organizations and communities to make sure youth and families have meaningful opportunities to participate in the decisions that affect them. Individual giving helps provide the flexibility to create and sustain these opportunities.

WHY INDIVIDUAL GIVING MATTERS

Unrestricted support gives us room to respond to what people need.

Grants and contracts make much of our work possible, but they don’t always cover the things that make participation possible or allow us to respond quickly when a new opportunity comes along.

Individual gifts give ACMH flexibility. They help us create leadership opportunities, bring people together, support youth and family participation, strengthen our programs, and invest in ideas that can make children’s mental health systems more responsive to the people they serve.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Help us keep building opportunities for youth and families.

Every gift helps ACMH continue creating opportunities for young people and families to connect, build leadership skills, share their experiences, and help shape the future of children’s mental health in Michigan.

Thank you for investing in a Michigan where youth and families have a meaningful role in the future of children’s mental health.
